The Refugium Rochus is a holiday home for people who love something special. A heartfelt project with which the hosts Rochus Andergassen and Harald Ploner have fulfilled a lifelong dream. The former Waldrast – Rochus’ parents’ house and former garni – has been transformed into a unique retreat.

A holiday home with breakfast service, sauna, five adults-only studios, one suite and plenty of space for private moments. Clean lines, natural materials such as wood and concrete, generous window areas and carefully selected accessories characterise the interior of the individually designed studios, which convey a pure sense of well-being. The studios stylishly reflect the signature style of architect Andreas Gruber, as do the customised design ideas from Ruralurban. Simple and minimalist, peppered with artistic accents and the portraits of their namesakes, the design studios at Refugium Rochus combine the comfort of a suite with the facilities of a flat.
High-quality beds, kitchenettes that have been thought through down to the smallest detail, exclusive seating and table furniture are just as much a standard feature as the marvellous view of South Tyrol’s vineyards and mountains that opens up from the private terrace or the sun-drenched garden. Architecture, history and surroundings come together here in an ideal location not far from Lake Kaltern, the historic centre of Bolzano and South Tyrol’s most beautiful sights, making the Refugium Rochus a promising place to relax.
