Sustainable and timeless

Opened in 1980 by Boris’ parents and filled with life from then on, Boris has gradually taken over the management since 2011. Christiane joined a few years later. Since then, both of them have been organising this small boutique hotel near Merano to create a beautiful and informal place for you to spend the best time of the year surrounded by beautiful nature.

When it comes to design, both pay attention to sustainable quality and timeless design.

Since April 2019, the new bathhouse with 5 pools, pool bar, 2 roof gardens (adults only), saunas and the “Studio 40a” spa surrounded by greenery has complemented the hotel’s extensive wellness area.

In recent years, Christiane and Boris have completely renovated their small boutique hotel near Merano in several stages. During each seasonal break, they take the opportunity to remodel some of the guest rooms and create new feel-good areas in and around the hotel, always using trusted local craftsmen.

Casual ambience

In an informal atmosphere, you decide every day how you would like to spend your evening. The in-house restaurant serves menus with regional ingredients from a radius of 30 kilometres or purely vegetarian dishes. In summer 2023, new themed evenings #bbqampool and #dinnerwithus will be introduced at the DHT. If you like, there are also numerous restaurants in the village to discover.

Sustainable action

In 2016, they began documenting their consumption, gradually reducing it and eliminating disposable packaging. By joining the turn2zero initiative, Christiane and Boris have committed to running their house in a climate-neutral way by 2025. With the latest investments in a new PV system and heat pumps, Co2 emissions have been reduced by 40%. In 2022, the Design Hotel Tyrol was awarded the “Sustainability Label South Tyrol”.
